What personal data we collect, why we collect it and where it is stored
When you visit this site your IP Address will be collected and a tracking cookie placed in your browser to monitor your journey through out the site. This information is stored on Google’s secure servers. No other information will be collected about you on entry to this site.
If you send an inquiry or fill out a form your name and email address will be collected. These will be stored on Microsoft’s secure servers. This information is used for the legitimate interest of contacting you in the future and replying to an inquiry.

In the case of contact information this is held on Microsoft secure servers and is used for the legitimate interest of contacting clients only when they contact us with regard to the use of our services.

We will not use your contact information to contact you regarding promotions and offers without your express permission. If permission is given to contact yourselves, you have the right to withdraw this permission at any point, by either unsubscribing from any newsletter we circulate or contacting us directly and asking that your information be removed from our information storage locations.

For Canine Bowen Technique.
How do we collect this personal information?
All the information collected is obtained directly from you and in the case of Canine Bowen Technique from your veterinarian. Collection of data will happen via pen and paper note taking, secure email, text messages, occasionally photographs, videos, and letters by mail. No personal data will be collected via social media.
We request that you consent in writing for us to store and keep your data for the service offered. This is to ensure compliance with data protection legislation.
How do we use this personal information?
This information is used by Bowen Therapy Saddleworth to help you as a patient/client and to find the best treatment, advice or course for you.
We will communicate with you by email, and/or other digital methods, by telephone, session information, progress, relevant referrals, and relevant consented media.
Sharing your personal data.
Your data is not shared or sold for marketing purposes.
Your data is treated as strictly confidential is only shared under the following circumstances:
• you give your explicit written consent for us to share with a named third party (e.g. doctor, medical consultant, another practitioner e.g. acupuncturist, osteopath etc.) In the case of Canine Bowen Technique with your veterinarian.
Or
• there is an issue of safety for yourself, us or a third party or a legal obligation with which we are bound to comply e.g. a court order;
• or with our professional body, insurance company and solicitor in the event of a complaint or insurance claim being brought against us.
We may ask you for a testimonial.
Our GDPR policy requests you signature if you agree that your testimonials can be used on our website and social media platforms. Only your initials will be used. With Canine Bowen Technique, if you agree, images and names of your dog can be used along with testimonials on the website and social media sites. You have a choice to allow or not allow in our GDPR policy.
How long is your personal information kept?
We keep your personal data for no longer than reasonably necessary.
We need to keep your information as long as you continue to consult with us. Your information is kept for 7 years after the last consultation. In the case of minors, for 7 years after they reach the age of 18. After this, your file will be securely destroyed and any digital information erased from my computer systems.
Controlling your personal information.
To ensure we have accurate information, you need to inform us of any changes you believe we should make to the personal information we hold. You can do this by contacting us by any of the methods previously described.
Under data protection legislation, you have the right to inspect personal information we hold about you. You can make a request to do so by contacting us and we will endeavour to respond within 14 working days.
How is your personal information stored?
Paper-based and electronic information is held securely.
All data will be held in a locked filing cabinet. No client files are left on surfaces for other clients / staff to read.
All data taken whilst on a mobile treatment will be transported in a locked bag, out of sight in a boot. No notes are left unattended in a vehicle at any time.
All computers / laptops and tablets are locked with passcodes and not left unattended. Only individuals with permission to read notes can access this data. Your email address is held securely on the server of the email providers. We take steps to protect your personal information against loss, theft, unauthorised access or disclosure in both cases.
